Cannady Associates is comprised of experienced public safety consultants with in-depth knowledge of police and fire operations and their associated standards. Andrew (Drew) F. Cannady

President

 

Andrew F. Cannady holds a North Carolina Private Investigator license and has been a certified instructor by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.  He retired from the Greensboro Police Department in January 2004 after nearly 31 years of service.  He is a licensed Notary Public.  He is an assessor and team leader for the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) with numerous assessments across the country.

Synopsis:  Developed and managed operational strategies for complex interagency investigations, conducted numerous investigative operations and closely supervised detectives, crime scene investigators and traffic fatality investigators.  Managed numerous special events and operations, produced staff studies and operational reports on key department issues and served as Police Liaison with the Greensboro Coliseum and the Emergency Management Office.  Coordinated centralized support services for Department, including records, laboratory, evidence and technology functions.

 

Served as team leader of SRT (Special Response Team), wrote operational plans for department special events, and managed original GPD process for achievement of CALEA accreditation.  Served as paralegal officer; was President of Greensboro Police Academy Class #45.

Matthew A. Lojko, Jr.

Senior Consultant

 

Mr. Lojko began his law enforcement career with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department in 1977.  In 1978, he was employed by the Greensboro Police Department and served in various administrative, operational and investigative capacities, both as an officer, supervisor and manager. 

 

From 1995 until 1997, Mr. Lojko served as Chief of Police for the Smithfield, North Carolina Police Department.

 

From 1997 until 1999, Mr. Lojko served as the Chief of Police for the Reidsville, North Carolina Police Department.

 

In 2000, Mr. Lojko rejoined the Greensboro Police Department and served in various supervisory and management positions before retiring at the rank of Captain in 2005.

 

Mr. Lojko's areas of specialization include internal affairs, budget  preparation and management, grant management, law enforcement accreditation, and employment practices.

 

Mr. Lojko earned an Associate's Degree from Wingate College, a Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina State University and a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  He is a graduate of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute's School of Police Staff and Command, 66th Session and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy, 187th Session.

 

Mr. Lojko was an active member in the International Association of Chiefs of Police and  the North Carolina Police Executives Association, where he held the office of Secretary-Treasurer.  He was also active in the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police and also served as a member of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

 

Mr. Lojko is the recipient of several awards.  Most noteworthy are the Michael G. Winslow Award for outstanding achievement and excellence while attending the 51st Police Basic Introductory Course at the Greensboro Police Department.  He is also the recipient of the Franklin M. Kreml Award presented by the Northwestern University Traffic Institute for outstanding leadership and achievement while attending the 66th Session of the School of Police Staff and Command, Evanston, Illinois.  He was the recipient of the 1997/98 Law Enforcement Award, given by Reidsville VFW Post 8844.
